There are 408 million motor vehicles in my country, and new energy accounts for 3.23%

On August 12, the Ministry of Public Security announced that as of now, the number of motor vehicles in the country has reached 408 million, of which 312 million are cars; there are 494 million motor vehicle drivers, of which 456 million are car drivers. In the first half of 2022, there will be 16.57 million newly registered motor vehicles and 11.03 million newly licensed drivers. In addition, as of the end of June, the number of new energy vehicles in the country reached 10.01 million, accounting for 3.23% of the total number of vehicles.

In terms of new energy vehicles, as of the end of June, there were 8.104 million pure electric vehicles in China, accounting for 80.93% of the total number of new energy vehicles. In the first half of the year, 2.209 million new energy vehicles were newly registered, an increase of 1.106 million compared with the number of new registrations in the first half of last year, an increase of 100.26% and a record high. New registrations of new energy vehicles accounted for 19.90% of new registrations of vehicles.

As of the end of June, 81 cities across the country had more than 1 million cars, an increase of 7 cities over the same period last year; 37 cities had more than 2 million cars, and 20 cities had more than 3 million cars. Among them, there are more than 6 million cars in Beijing, more than 5 million cars in Chengdu and Chongqing, and more than 4 million cars in Suzhou, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Xi'an and Wuhan.
