The super fast charging Kirin battery, the intelligent cockpit that can be remotely controlled from over a thousand kilometers away, and the world's first all aluminum body pickup truck... At the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Chain Expo"), the intelligent car chain exhibition area became one of the hot exhibition areas, with many new technologies and products shining on the stage.

In addition to the entire vehicle, more booths in this exhibition area display core raw materials and key components, covering the entire lifecycle of the intelligent automotive industry. The industry-leading technologies in various fields to a certain extent demonstrate the advantages and aggregation power of China's intelligent automotive industry chain supply chain.

Thousand kilometer range, super fast charging. At the exhibition booth of Ningde Times, the Kirin Battery fills visitors with anticipation. "The accurate explanation is that the Kirin battery can support a maximum range of 1000 kilometers or super fast charging," said the booth staff.

At the Xidi Intelligent Driving Exhibition Stand, visitors are all sitting in the remote cockpit to experience it. "It's amazing that sitting in this remote cockpit can control an excavator 1600 kilometers away!" The audience couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

These scenes showcase the development and growth of China's automotive industry from one side. Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that China's automotive industry has a full industry chain foundation from the demand side to the supply side, with outstanding advantages in new energy, battery technology, intelligent level, intelligent driving, and other fields, promoting the transformation of the Chinese market from a single automobile consumer country to a major automobile technology cooperation country.

These advantages have also made China one of the most important markets in the global automotive industry. China's automobile production and sales have consistently ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years; In the first 10 months of this year, China's automobile exports reached 3.922 million units, a year-on-year increase of 59.7%. Among them, the export of new energy vehicles reached 995000 units, a year-on-year increase of 99.1%, nearly 100%.

Behind the rapid growth of production and sales is the strength of the entire industry and supply chain. For the development of industries, every link upstream and downstream is crucial, and it is also a large market. Taking battery materials as an example, in the face of the rapidly growing demand for new energy vehicles and power batteries, the global shipment volume of negative electrode materials has increased from 30000 tons in 2010 to 1.56 million tons in 2022, with a compound annual growth rate of nearly 40%, of which more than 90% of the supply comes from China.

The huge market demand provides opportunities for enterprises. At the Chain Expo, Shanshan showcased two core advantages of its main businesses: lithium battery negative electrode materials and polarizers. Shanshan, which started its clothing business, transformed into the field of lithium battery materials in 1999. "The development and growth of Shanshan over the years cannot be separated from the development of electrification and intelligence of automobiles." Zheng Ju, Chairman of Ningbo Shanshan Co., Ltd., said that Shanshan has completed the domestic production capacity layout of 700000 tons of artificial graphite and plans to build a 100000 ton integrated chemical plant in Finland, continuously leading the global production capacity advantage.

Not only have Chinese companies shared the market dividend, but multinational corporations are also actively expanding their presence. At present, Bosch has 34 production bases, 26 technology centers, and nearly 60000 employees in China. The Bosch China Advanced Intelligent Driving Solution, developed by a local team, will be put into mass production in the fourth quarter of this year. Rio Tinto, a global mining company, ships approximately 250 million tons of iron ore to China annually.

It is precisely the development of these enterprises that has converged into a strong industrial and supply chain in the Chinese automotive industry, making China an important driving force for the development of the global automotive industry. Tesla's development in China is an example. The Shanghai Super Factory is Tesla's global export center. In 2022, Tesla's global total delivery exceeded 1.31 million vehicles, of which over 710000 came from the Shanghai super factory. In 2023, the annual production capacity of Shanghai's super factory has increased to over 950000 vehicles.

"Tesla's success in China is, on a larger level, the success of the Chinese supply chain." Song Gang, Vice President of Manufacturing at Tesla, pointed out that Tesla and Chinese suppliers have a "win-win" relationship, which is a close cooperation, mutual support, and inseparable whole.

Building a stable, reliable, and highly competitive automotive industry chain system has become an industry consensus. "The development of the automotive industry in the era of intelligence is no longer limited to single line technological innovation, but combines cross-border technological integration and innovation from different industries and fields." Yang Xueliang, Senior Vice President of Geely Holding Group, said that Geely is willing to work with global partners to jointly build, promote and share, and jointly build a resilient industrial chain system for intelligent connected new energy vehicles
