Tesla will open its charging facilities to all brands in the United States
Tesla has reached an agreement with the US government to open some of its charging facilities to all brands of vehicles, a move that could help significantly improve the country's charging infrastructure by 2024.
By the end of 2024, Tesla has committed to opening 3,500 new or existing supercharges, as well as 4,000 regular charging piles, to customers of other brands, the first time this approach has been used in the United States following a similar move in Europe in 2021.

Opening up its charging network to customers of other brands would allow Tesla to receive $7.5bn in government subsidies. In addition, Tesla will be able to expand its customer service base.
