In partnership with Ford, Ningde Times will build a factory in the United States

Ford is in talks with Ningde Times to build an electric car battery factory in the US, foreign media reported recently. People familiar with the matter said the two companies were weighing a new ownership structure in which Ford would own 100 percent of the multibillion-dollar plant, which would supply lithium iron phosphate batteries for Ford's electric vehicles, and Ningde Times would operate the plant and own the technology to make the batteries. The production tax credit is available and the direct financial investment of the Ningde era is not required.

"There are a number of models under discussion regarding our investment in the US, all of which are based purely and solely on commercial considerations," Ningde Times said. Ford said, "Our discussions with Ningde Era are continuing and we have nothing new to announce."

"If Chinese companies do not manufacture and assemble in the United States, they will hardly be able to sell their products to the United States," an industry source said. For Ningde Times, the rumored cooperation mode is more toward technology licensing, which also means that the capital cost of Ningde times will be greatly reduced, and because of the "binding" with Ford, its profitability is more certain.
